Orthotist

An Orthotist is an allied health professional who assesses and treats physical and functional limitations of persons resulting from illnesses and disabilities including limb amputations. evaluates patients and custom design, fabricate and fit orthoses. The orthotist’s role is to assess, prescribe, design, fit, monitor, provide therapy and educate regarding the use and care of an appropriate orthotics that serves an individual’s requirements.

Basic Qualification: 4-year bachelor degree in orthotics or equivalent.

 

Orthotic Technician

Orthotic technician manufactures and repairs orthoses based on measurements given to them by Orthotist.

Basic Qualification: 18-month certificate in orthotic technology
