Dear Registrants,
The Health Professionals Council’s (HPC) will be holding an election to elect ten board members to replace the current members of the Council whose mandate culminates in January 2025. The election will be held in December this year.
After successful e-voting election since 2020, the HPC has decided once again, to roll out the election process through the e-voting platform.
In order to vote as well as to be eligible to stand for election, your registration must be valid and you must have a valid email address. In preparation for the process we are asking all registrants to:
1. Renew their registration promptly to ensure that they do not miss the opportunity to participate in this important process.
2. All registrants whose registration will expire within the next 4 weeks [up to the first week of December 2024 are urged to proceed with their renewal immediately so that they will be eligible to be nominated as a potential candidate and to vote. Registrants should ensure that they have fulfilled the CPD requirements prior to renewal.
3. The Council also wishes to remind its Registrants that the fee for renewal is SR 300. However, if the registration has expired, the Allied Health Professional will have to apply to re-register, which includes an additional fee of SR 300, bringing the total amount payable to SR 600 (as per the S.I. 1 of 2019 (Health Professionals (Fees) Regulations, 2018)). Registrants are reminded that it is an offence to practice without valid registration.
4. Create an email address if you do not have one. Inform the Council of updated email address. The HPC can organise for the provision of email addresses but it will be on a first come, first served basis. Registrants without email addresses wishing to avail themselves of this service are being asked to contact the HPC office urgently on telephone number 4303745 or 2606128
5. Registrants with existing email address should ensure that the correct email address is on the HPC’s record and is in order.
