The Health Professionals Council (HPC) recently hosted a successful Continuing Professional Development (CPD) session on 29th August 2025 for Allied Health Professionals based on Praslin and La Digue. The event was held at Praslin Secondary School and was facilitated by Mr. Jimmy Petrousse, a registered psychotherapist. The session, entitled “Elevating Practice: Fostering responsibility and purpose”, aimed to equip participants with practical tools and insights to support their daily professional responsibilities.

In the spirit of collaboration and inclusivity, HPC extended invitations to its partner councils, including the Seychelles Medical and Dental Council, the Nurses and Midwives Council, the Social Workers’ Council, and members of the host school.

Participants found the training to be interactive, engaging, and highly beneficial. It sparked meaningful discussions on socio-cultural issues affecting both children and adults in the community. Mrs. Volcere and a colleague expressed their appreciation:

“The training was very helpful and will assist us in applying the knowledge and skills acquired in our respective workplaces.”

HPC extends its gratitude to all attendees and partners for making the session a success and reaffirms its commitment to supporting the continued professional development of Allied Health Professionals across the islands.
