The Health Professionals Council (HPC) has officially launched its first virtual platform and mobile app for continuous professional development (CPD), in partnership with the World Continuing Education Alliance (WCEA)
The launch ceremony was held on the 5th of September 2025, at the Sheikh Khalifa Conference Room, and was attended by Chief Allied Health Officer Dr Cynthia Noshir, HPC Board Members and Registrar, and multiple Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) from various cadres.
The WCEA is a social impact technology company that provides sustainable & innovative e-health & m-health technology solutions for capacity building through CPD and lifelong learning. Through this platform, AHPs gain access to free, accredited CPD courses from various reputable international organisations, NGOs, and academic institutions. The platform can be accessed anywhere and anytime via web browser or mobile app, making CPD more accessible than ever for registrants in Seychelles.
The initiative aligns with the HPC’s mandate of promoting lifelong learning, professional competency, and ethical standards among AHPs. By leveraging WCEA’s platform, the Council aims to make continuous learning both sustainable and inclusive by ensuring that AHPs can consistently access accredited learning materials at no cost, while also catering to its various cadres.
Speaking at the launch, Mrs. Marie-Antoine Bethew, HPC Chairperson, emphasised the importance of the partnership: “This strategic partnership with WCEA reflects the Council’s continued commitment to advancing professional development and ensuring the highest standards of service delivery across our nation”.
She further encouraged all registrants to register on the platform and take full advantage of this opportunity. Access emails have already been sent out to all registrants, with many already reportedly logged in and partaking in courses.
