The Health Professionals Council (HPC), through its Education and Training Subcommittee and in collaboration with The Guy Morel Institute (TGMI), successfully hosted a two-day short course on Mindset for Personal and Professional Development from 21–22 August 2025. A group of HPC registrants from various allied health professions participated in this engaging and practical training.

The course focused on the role of mindset in personal growth, professional effectiveness, and overall well-being. Through interactive lectures and group discussions, participants explored how to shift from a fixed to a growth mindset, develop greater self-awareness, and build resilience in the face of challenges.

The training forms part of HPC’s ongoing commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD), ensuring that health professionals remain competent, motivated, and prepared to deliver high-quality care.

Participants commended the course’s relevance and delivery:

Cherelle Belairy, a Provisional Psychologist, noted: “The training has provided me with a renewed sense of motivation and confidence to embrace challenges and continuously develop my skills.

Juanne Freminot, a Nutrition Technician, added: “It was very informative and eye-opening—a chance to expand my thinking and motivation.

Nerissa Zialor, a Pharmacy Technician, shared: “The mind is a tool given to us to be used at maximum capacity. Therefore, mind management is one of the things that each individual must learn to do. This two-day training course by Mr. Timothe Sinon has been insightful and refreshing. It was well presented.

On behalf of registrants in attendance, heartfelt gratitude is expressed to the Education and Training Subcommittee for spearheading this initiative and supporting their professional development. This training underscores the importance of CPD placed by HPC, as a regulatory body, in fostering a culture of learning, adaptability, and excellence within the health community.
