On Wednesday, 15th February 2023, newly elected HPC board members met with the former board members for a formal introduction. The aim of the session was for the outgoing members to inform the incoming members of the function of the Council. This half day meeting, held at The Guy Morel Institute (TGMI) was a fruitful one according to the members.
Ms Marie-Michelle Lai Lam kicked start the session with a message from the Ag. Chairperson, Ms. Lisa Chetty, who unfortunately could not be present for the occasion. In her message Ms Chetty highlighted the mandate of the council and some of its greatest achievement since its conceptions in 2012.
Heads of the five different sub-committees then gave a brief account of the work that has been conducted within each sub-committees over the past 2 years. Former members also shared their experiences serving the council while incoming members shared their expectations and aspiration for the “new” council.
Currently, the Council has over 550 registered members representing 48 professions on the register.
